NBA 2K23 is a well-known premium basketball sports game developed by Take-Two Interactive Software from the prominent video game franchise of NBA 2K. In this sequel, there will be four different athletes who will take over the game’s cover. The all-time basketball legend, Michael Jordan, will front the edition named after him as well as the Championship edition.  

Meanwhile, NBA 2K23’s Gamestop-exclusive WNBA edition will star female player icons, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird. The Standard and Digital Deluxe edition, on the other hand, will be topped by Devin Booker. NBA 2K22 is the previous version before this sequel.

What’s new in NBA 2K23?

During the initial September 2022 release of NBA 2K23, there were various pre-order packages available: from the championship edition, digital deluxe edition, Michael Jordan edition, WNBA edition, to the standard edition. One point of contention in this entry is its choice of tracks, focusing more on hip-hop and trap songs instead of the more diverse soundtrack of its predecessor which featured rock and pop tracks.

With the ground-breaking cross-play technology test conducted by EA within FIFA 22’s PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, many NBA 2K fans are hoping for it to be rolled out in 2K23 as well. However, no significant movement has been made regarding this petition. Nonetheless, it does provide cross-gen access wherein players can purchase and receive both versions of NBA 2K23 across generations of consoles and platforms.

Even after its release, NBA 2k23 continues to add content. As of NBA 2K23 Season 7: Realize Your Potential, new players such as OKC’s Josh Giddey have joined the fold. New apparel brands are also made available, including a Level 30 Affiliation Mascot and a Level 40 NBA Mascot Outfit. Special events are also lined up to give players twice the experience while equipping their NBA apparel.

Keeping its hip-hop and trap sound, new 2K Beats have also arrived. Tracks from Action Bronson, Larry June, and Jay Park are among the new additions, plus a curated hip-hop playlist from Blxst and his EVGLE label. For the WNBA division, the regular season kicks off with a lot of new items. Collect the Kelsey Mitchell and Sue Bird Heroine jerseys, coach cards, t-shirts, and more.
